American Girl Doll Collared Pink & Blue Striped Poncho

Westport, CT

MATERIALS
US size 3 dpns and circular needle
Main Color = Baby weight pink yarn (I used leftover Red Heart Soft Baby
Contrast Color = Baby weight blue yarn (I used leftover Red Heart Soft Baby “Twinkle Yarn”
Definition inc 1 = knit in the front and the back of the stitch

DIRECTIONS

Collar

• Cast on 60 stitches
• K1P1 ribbing for 2 inches
• Fold collar
• K across
• P across
• K across
• K across
• P across

Shoulders

• Separate onto 4 dpns (15 stitches to each needle)
• *(incr 1, k to last stitch on needle, make 1). 68 stitches.
• Purl across
• Repeat the above steps 3X (76, 84, 92 stitches).

Body

• incr 1, knit across to last stitch on 2nd needle, incr 1. (center back) Incr 1 on first stitch of 3rd needle, k across to last stitch of 4th needle, incr 1 (front center). 96 stitches
• Carefully join and knit around.
• Repeat the above 2 rounds (x) times. (100, 104, 108, 112 st)
• (insert stripe if desired in here)
• At 132 stitches, start the garter stitch rows…
• Incr 1, purl across to center back, incr 1. Incr 1, purl across to center front, incr 1.
• Knit around
• Repeat above 2 rounds one more time (140 stitches)
Bind off.

Add fringe.
