I heart paper cones. These sweet cones can be used for almost every holiday season, gift wrapping or party favors, the list is long. Made in coordinating colors and pretty stylish embellishments i’m sure that the receiver of a paper cone will be very excited to see what it is hiding inside. When I first posted a paper cone a loooong time ago lots of you asked me for a tutorial. With Valentine’s Day soon approaching, I decided to make it in the classic Valentine’s colors: Pink and red. So I hope that you will enjoy yourself with my little crafty: How to make a paper cone tutorial.

This is what I use:
Card stock paper
Crepe paper (8-by-18″-rectangle)
Craft glue stick
Double-sided tape
Staple
Pencil & scissor
Ribbon
Embellishments
Large disposable piping bag (not on the photo), if you plan to fill your paper cone with cookies.
Step 1:
Trace the cone template onto card stock paper and cut out.

Step 2:
Because this cone shape can be difficult to roll into the right shape. It will make it a little more easier if you pre-roll the cone. Before you go on to the next step.

Step 3:
Add two lines of double-sided tape on the inside of the cone near the top. Remember to peel off the top layer of the tape.

Step 4:
Attache the long side of the crepe paper to the rows of double-sided tape. Make a few small pleats along the way. Cut off any excess crepe paper if the strip is too long.

Step 5:
Fold back the crepe paper top and then add two close lines of double-sided tape down one of the sides, like shown on the photo. Remember to peel off the top layer of the tape. Next roll into cone shape, starting with the pointy end first.

Step 6:
Secure the paper cone with a couple of stapler at the top of the cone.

Step 7:
Gently fold the crepe paper back into place and embellish the front of the paper cone.

Step 8:
To avoid grease marks from cookies and sweets. You can fill a disposable piping bag and place this inside the paper cone.

Step 9:
Close the top with some pretty ribbon and your paper cone is ready to go!

Happy Caking!
